Adam Cromack's Ride

Why I Ride ...

Well, it’s that time of year again. After many questions, I finally decided I would sign up to participate in the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge again this coming summer. This will be my second year taking part in the event, and I couldn’t be more excited. Last year’s event exceeded it’s lofty goal of raising $31 million for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, bringing its lifetime contribution to over $300 million. The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) donates 100% of every cent raised by participants, and remains Dana Farber’s largest single-event fundraising source.

Last year’s ride was much more than I could have imagined it would be. I approached the weekend with the simple expectation of long hours on my bike, followed by food and rest. However, the time I spent on my bike ended up being time spent with thousands of other remarkable people working together to find a cure for cancer. What we accomplished that weekend as more than a bike ride. We gave the world’s top medical professionals the support they need to put this disease where it belongs - in the past.

With your generous help, I was able to meet my personal fundraising goal of $4,200. I can’t say thank you enough, or explain how much it means to me that you allowed me to accomplish something as great as this. Going into this 32nd annual PMC ride, I am confident we can accomplish this great feat once again. This time around I have chosen a slightly different route than what I did last year. This new route adds an extra 20 miles, bringing my grand total to 180 miles over two days, and with it, a new fundraising commitment of $3,400.

I am doing this ride again this year for the memory of my grandmother, for the countless people who are still fighting cancer, for those who have already lost the battle, and for those who have yet to encounter the battle so that they will never have to. I couldn’t have accomplished what I already have without the generous help from each of you. All I can do is ask that you continue your efforts to help me carry on this fight. With your continued help, I will be able to meet my fundraising goal, which will bring us ever closer to finding a cure.

Feel free to visit my website at where you can find more information about the PMC and the actual event. And don't hesitate to pass this link and my story along to others as well!

Taking part in this event means a lot to me, and any support you can provide will be extremely helpful.
Thank you, and wish me luck!
