In 2014, I enjoyed one final victory parade to close out my career as a PMC rider! For this last PMC, I rode a third day and an extra hundred miles by starting at the New York border, making it a true ride across Massachusetts.
I also rode in loving memory of my longtime hero and cycling & charity ride mentor Bobby Mac, who was suddenly taken from us in March by pancreatic cancer.
By riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge, I and the other riders raise 60 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s revenue, which enables Dana-Farber to develop new treatments for cancer and more quickly find a cure.
But the ride isn’t just about raising money. Cycling 300 miles takes stamina, strength of will, and the ability to overcome pain: the same attributes that are demanded of cancer victims and their families. By riding in the PMC, over 5,000 riders demonstrate our willingness to lend our strength to those who are in need of it.
I hope you’ll join us. You can still sponsor my ride by clicking on the Donate button below.
