Team Brielle's Brigade's Ride
Why We Ride...
Formed in 2006, Team Brielle’s Brigade remains focused on
its goal to help find a cure for cancer by raising funds for cancer research.
This is our 8th year riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge and with the support of
family, friends and local business partners we have our sights set on raising
$1 million for The Jimmy Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Beautiful Brielle
Everyone on our team has been touched by cancer in one way
or another. There is one special and courageous young girl, however, who
unifies our team...Brielle Laplante.
Our forever inspiration
Brielle was diagnosed with leukemia for the first time at age 4. Surrounded by love and support from her sister Jaclyn, Mom, Dad, and many close family members, Brielle bravely fought the disease and won. Her incredibly positive spirit and passion for life inspired everyone who met her. Brielle turned 13 in December 2011. Earlier that year her cancer had returned in the form of Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer that spread to her lungs. Everyone hoped for more birthdays but even the great doctors at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute could not stop this vicious cancer. Four months shy of her 14th birthday and shortly after cheering for last year’s Pan-Mass Challenge riders, she lost her battle.
Our cycling team is one of Brielle’s many legacies. Our
wheels will continue to spin in her honor and for all loved ones who are
battling or have battled cancer.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We hope to find a cure
for cancer so everyone can enjoy a long life. Brielle would want it that way!
